Awareness on Gender Based Violence and Violence Against Children
The 25th of every month is commemorated to raise awareness on the elimination of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC) which is commemorated annually on the 25th of November.
On the climax of 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC) on the 10th of December 2021, a learning session was conducted for the staff. The staff during the session were; Mr. Naftal Nsemwa the Managing Director, Ms. Pamela Mushi, Mr. Herman Malangahe, Eng. Mallale Massanyiwa, Mr. Jeremia Ulomi, Ms. Joan Kanza, and Ms. Hosiana Mlati.

Facilitation of the session was done by Ms. Aikade Nkini a Social and Gender Consultant at INTERFINi Consultants. The session included understanding what is GBV and VAC, the types of GBV and types, and participants’ question & answer sessions. The staff had a lot of questions, comments, ideas, and suggestions, this showed their interest in learning about gender issues and how they impact our community and development. The discussion was lively and lasted longer than expected.

At the end of the session, each staff was required to prepare a commitment card, and staff committing through writing in the card what they intend to do to combat GBV and VAC in their community.
