In the year 2017 INTERFINi coordinated and provided support to the The East Africa Green Building Forum (EAGBF) organized by the USAID and facilitated by ICF in collaboration with the Tanzania Green Building Council, themed “Greening the Next Decade”. The first ever East Africa Green Building Conference was conducted in the year 2015, which was opened by then Vice President of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Mohamed Gharib Bilal, which combined regional forces to address the issue of green buildings within a broad sustainability framework. Since then, green building knowledge and practice has grown substantially within the region. In this Forum, Tanzania Green Building Council at its stakeholders are back to discuss these gains, and future needs, with an even stronger line-up of speakers. INTERFINi is working as a subcontractor to National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in a USAID funded project to coordinate the Support for Tanzania Grid Integration and Resilience Project. This project aims at providing technical support and capacity building through workshops to the Ministry of Energy, TANESCO, ZECO, EWURA, ZURA and other key Energy Stakeholders. In realizing the implementation of the project, INTERFINi organised and conducted the first activity of the training on knowledge sharing with NREL at the Kick-Off Workshop on “Greening the Grid Tanzania” at Nashera Hotel in Morogoro from 11-13th October 2021. A total of 33 participants took part in the workshop of which 29 were Male and 4 Female from TANESCO, ZECO, EWURA, ZURA, TAREA, REA and Energy Private Sector representative.
